Born Rupert Walsh in County Kildare, Ireland, he is the eldest son of former champion amateur jockey and Grand National winning trainer Ted Walsh.
His huge talented led him to be stable jockey for both Paul Nicholls and Willie Mullins and is the third most prolific jockey in British and Irish jump racing history.
