Ryan Moore is odds-on favourite to be top jockey at Royal Ascot.
The 42-year-old is one of the most prolific jockeys of his generation and just last week became the first rider to win each Classic in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France courtesy of his Prix de Diane success aboard Diamond Necklace.
It was some week for Moore who was also recongnised in the King's Birthday Honours list for services to horse racing and British sport.
More Royal success is sure to come this week at a meeting where he already has 92 victories to his name.
Ryan Moore - 1/3
James Doyle - 5/1
Oisin Murphy - 13/2
William Buick - 10/1
Billy Loughnane - 20/1
Colin Keane - 20/1
Moore's association with Royal Ascot winning-most trainer Aidan O'Brien gives him access to a plethora of quality rides across the five days. Just this week, Moore will get the leg up on Confucius, Victorious, Scandinavia and Sergei Diaghilev, who are all vying for favouritism.
Such is his quality, Moore has also been courted for a number of outside rides, most notably getting aboard Reaching High for the King & Queen in the Ascot Stakes.
James Doyle, Oisin Murphy and William Buick will also have high hopes heading into the week.
Doyle is now retained by Wathnan Racing, whose laser focus on Royal Ascot will provide the Classic-winning jockey with serious ammunition through the meeting. The outfit have been hoovering up talent specifically for this event and, as a result, should leave on Saturday with plenty of success.
After finishing runner-up in the standings last year, Murphy will be keen to go one better and upset the odds-on favourite. His five-strong tally was an incredible effort given all of his wins came in handicaps.
Top rides on Mrair, Nahraan and Caballo De Mar should provide him with plenty of opportunity to strike at Listed or Group level this time around.
