Queen Anne Stakes Placepot Tips

Audience produced a sparkling performance in the Lockinge at Newbury last month, leading a merry dance to his rivals, including plenty of these.

The only rival to close him down that afternoon was runner-up Charyn as Roger Varian's charge continued a fine season.

The Gosdens could have run Inspiral here and it can be viewed as a positive that they rely solely on Audience as he could have plenty more to give at this mile trip.

The lightly-raced Maljoom has had his issues, with just two starts from June 2022 until now, but he was a close-up fourth in the St James's Palace here two years ago and returned in early May with a pleasing run in a tactical five-runner event where he made most of the running.

Coventry Stakes Placepot Tips

A field of 23 contenders laced with potential make this a tough spot for placepot purposes. Camille Pissarro isn't overlooked easily as Aidan O'Brien bids for an 11th race win, but others appeal more.

Symbol Of Honour was very green on debut over 5f at Newmarket in May, but Charlie Appleby turned him out soon after at Lingfield and he was a different proposition, cruising clear with a couple of next-time-out winners among the beaten horses. He may have plenty more to come.

Cowardofthecounty beat a well-regarded Ballydoyle inmate on debut at the Curragh in April, form that reads handsomely now and, if Joseph O'Brien's colt handles this faster surface, he looks a top candidate.

King Charles III Stakes Placepot Tips

Not a vintage renewal of this Group 1 sprint and one in which Big Evs should run well for Mick Appleby.

He won the Windsor Castle over C&D last June, added Group-race successes at Goodwood and Doncaster afterwards and signed off by winning the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf in November.

He wasn't hard pressed to concede a penalty in a Listed comeback win at York last month and is a very exciting sprinting prospect.

St James's Palace Stakes Placepot Tips

The third and final Group 1 on a blistering first day.  Notable Speech took his unbeaten record to four in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket last month for Charlie Appleby.

He did so in coming almost last-to-first and with the subsequent Irish Guineas one-two Rosallion and Haatem behind as well as Haydock Group 2 winner Inisherin in sixth.

A very exciting Dubawi colt for the Godolphin team, he can stamp his class on this contest.

Ascot Stakes Placepot Tips

Given his record of four wins in this contest since 2012, the Willie Mullins-trained My Lyka is very much one to note.

He was second over hurdles at Killarney on his stable bow last month and the lightly-raced French import could fare well in a first-time tongue-tie with Ryan Moore on board.

Down at the foot of the weights is Tenerife Sunshine for Charlie Johnston, a winner over 2m at Goodwood nine days ago.

He has a 5lb penalty to carry, but four-year-olds claimed this race seven times in nine years around the turn of the century and he could be a young stayer with potential.

Wolferton Stakes Placepot Tips

Torito wasn't beaten far in the Group 3 Hampton Court over track and trip last June.

John & Thady Gosden's Kingman gelding shaped very encouragingly at Newmarket last month in a 1m1f good-ground handicap in his only outing since and only has six runs behind him, so he can improve further.

Bold Discovery knuckled down to win a Group 3 over a mile at Leopardstown last month for Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley on his reappearance. He's well worth a first turf try at this distance.
