Roy Keane reveals favourite moment from his career

Roy Keane has revealed that getting an opportunity at Nottingham Forest ranks as his favourite moment from his illustrious playing career.

Roy Keane spent 12 years with Manchester United after a record-breaking move from Nottingham Forest, where he'd go on to win seven Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the UEFA Champions League as part of their unprecedented Treble in 1999.

Keane also won the Full Members' Cup with Nottingham Forest, won the Championship as manager of Sunderland and appeared at the 1994 World Cup with Ireland.

Despite his illustrious career, it's a lower-profile moment that Keane ranks above all others.

On Sky Sports' Fan Q&A, Keane was asked for his favourite moment from his career, and said: "My favourite moment, and what helped me get to [where I was] was getting a trial at Nottingham Forest, because that was the start of everything.

"All the other stuff came after that, so getting to Forest for the trial was the key for me.

"If I ever reflect on my career and look back I was in some good dressing rooms. I always enjoyed the lads I played with, even going back to Ireland and the teams I played with over there. Forest was brilliant, people like Stuart Pearce, Des Walker, Nigel Clough, then of course going to United, we had an amazing dressing room.

"I enjoyed even my time at Celtic and the dressing room there, but getting to Forest for my trial was the foundation to me having a decent career."

Despite his ability as a complete midfielder, certainly before his serious knee injury in 1998, Keane was best remembered as a tough-tackling footballer, not afraid to mix it with his opposite number.

But when asked who the most annoying player Keane faced was, the former United captain was hesitant to give a name.

"There was a few," added Keane. "I didn't like the sneaky ones. I didn't mind people hitting me or me hitting them but it was when people were leaving elbows, there was a couple."
