Take a look at the latest odds as to where Manchester City midfielder Rodri will be plying his trade at the end of the transfer window as Barcelona continue to be linked with a move for the Spanish star.
It's still a significant odds-on play that Rodri will be a Barca player come next month.
News first broke regarding the La Liga giant's initial interest earlier this month and they have subsequently followed-up their interest with a couple of concrete bids.
Their most recent of £55 million was designed to tempt the Citizens into the sale of the 30-year-old, but City are sticking to their guns and refusing to budge from their reported £60 million plus valuation.
Barcelona are expected to return and meet the price tag on the Ballon d'O winner's head, but still, we have gone back out with our Rodri next club market.
"We're back out and dipping our toes into the Rodri market," bet365's Steve Freeth said.
With the two parties playing chess over a final figure, we're seeing good two-way business.
Respected football writer David Ornstein broke the news of Barcelona's opening bid via his official X account, claiming contact with the Premier League club had been made by the La Liga champions.
"Barcelona offer Manchester City ~€45m + add-ons to sign Rodri. #MCFC regard as nowhere near level needed to negotiate sale + insist no meaningful talks taking place as bid considered serious yet to be made. #FCBarcelona know price ~€80m," he posted on X.
Barca's desire to secure a deal for the midfielder came on the back of speculation that Real Madrid had made Rodri one of their biggest summer transfer priorities.
It's understood Rodri was open to joining Los Blancos with Jose Mourinho's side being as short as 1/5 to secure his signature at the time.
However, it's believed their interest cooled after Barca made a move of their own and the player had expressed his preference of joining the Camp Nou club.
However, should Barcelona reach a stalemate with the Citizens over the structure of any potential deal, then don't rule Madrid out from making a late move in a bid to gazump their rivals.
