Robert Lewandowski is set to make his Chicago Fire debut this evening as Chicago Fire travel to Inter Miami in Major League Soccer.
Lewandowski completed a free transfer to the Fire from Barcelona late last month after winning three La Liga titles in four years with the Catalan giants.
The legendary striker has signed a contract in the Windy City until the end of the 2027-28 MLS season and revealed after the move that he did not want to play for another European club after Barcelona.
As a Designated Player Lewandowski is not constrained by the MLS' salary cap, and reports suggest he is the league's second-highest paid player on a contract said to be worth in excess of £245,000-per-week, behind only Lionel Messi.
Now the 37-year-old will look to make an immediate impact stateside when he takes on Sir David Beckham's star-studded Inter Miami side.
However, there be no on-pitch reunion between Lewandowski and his former rival Lionel Messi, with the Inter Miami captain not set to feature as he takes an extended break following Argentina's defeat in the World Cup final on Sunday.
The MLS clash between Inter Miami and Chicago Fire will be available to view on Apple TV.
