Trillium should have too much toe

Meditate edges favouritism for the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes (2.25) but I'm not sure about that assessment.

While she brings top-level form to the table having finished a good second to Tahiyra in the Moyglare last time, and there was four-and-a-half lengths back to the third, I think she needs seven furlongs at this stage of her career.

This drop in trip could easily catch her out and Trillium is taken to outsprint Meditate on the Rowley Mile for Richard Hannon.

Trillium has looked seriously talented on her past two starts in Group races at Goodwood and Doncaster and the latter, in which she did remarkably well to catch a speedy filly who had previously run second to Highfield Princess in the Nunthorpe, was a mighty effort.

This extra furlong will be well within her stamina range and she looks the one to beat.

Magic can supply the goods

Charlie Appleby is the dominant trainer of juveniles in Britain and can celebrate a first success in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes (3.00) since 2014 with Mischief Magic.

This is a big step up in class for Mischief Magic after he landed a Group 3 last time, but this doesn't feel like an amazing running and he looked top class there.

While Mischief Magic only scored by two lengths, he was drawn widest of all at Kempton and was forced to sit second-last until rounding the home turn. The way he finished out his race was supremely impressive and he recorded some strong closing sectionals.

The sky looks the limit for this colt and he can continue his progression at a course he has previously scored at.

Consider these two in Cambridgeshire

Injizati might be drawn slightly lower than ideal in stall 18 but also merits consideration for Charlie Fellowes. This unexposed colt was sent off a 3-1 chance for a Windsor Listed race in August on his first start in 144 days and attempted to make all that day, but simply didn't stay the 1m 3½f trip and faded into fifth.

That would have woken him up and I'm predicting a better showing back to 1m 1f with a slight ease in the ground sure to suit.

Fellowes has always held Injazati in high regard and after just two runs this campaign he is quite low mileage. Fresh legs can often prove crucial at this time of year.
