Reece Bellotti is normally a calm and composed character in front of the camera...
However, on the night of 26th October, 2024, he was anything but!
The British and Commonwealth super-featherweight champion was seething after the late withdrawal of Michael Gomez Jr from their bout which was due to take place that night.
Both fighters were at the venue and both seemed ready to go, but Gomez was pulled out of the contest after falling ill in the changing rooms inside Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena.
Bellotti was interviewed on DAZN not long after the announcement and questioned the withdrawal before following up with some choice words for his opponent.
The champion will be itching to get going this Saturday night and the come forward style of both men along with the memories of October will ensure this will be a strong candidate for fight of the night.

Following in the footsteps of a famous fighting father brings its own unique pressures.
For Michael Gomez Jr, the expectation comes from how he fights followed up by what he achieves in the sport.
His father, Michael Sr, was a boxing throwback, who didn’t suffer fools and chose to meet you in the middle for a war of attrition.
The Irish-born Mancunian is best known for his wild thriller against Alex Arthur in Edinburgh 22 years ago, which was one of the greatest fights of the 21st century.
For Gomez Jr to overcome Bellotti, he may need to take a leaf out of his dad’s book and go straight for the favourite.
It has its risks, it has potential downfalls but the rewards are significant, and are likely to be remembered at the end of 2025 when fans and media consider the best fights of the year.
Gomez’s fitness, fundamentals and fearless attitude must all be at the peak of their powers to stand a chance of beating the experienced champion.
If they’re not he will fall short in a likely valiant display of courage and bravery.
