Adelaide United boss Carl Veart says Kusini Yengi and Michael Jakobsen are both making good progress but will be left out of the side that faces Brisbane Roar.
The Reds are priced at 10/1 to win the 2021/22 A-League grand final and will secure their place in finals with a victory against the Roar.
However they will have to face Macarthur without the influential duo as Veart adopts a cautious approach with them. Yengi and Jakobson have struggled with hip and thigh injuries respectively and will be given some extra time off.
"There's no point in rushing, we have given them both an extra week to be ready," Veart told reporters ahead of the game. "Tracking well, both of them, hopefully we can give them some game time next week."
Adelaide sit in fourth spot on the ladder with 37 points. Barring a disaster over the next couple of games a finals campaign is on the cards, but Veart is calling for focus ahead of the Roar clash.
"We know we still need to pick up points to guarantee a finals spot so it's important that we have that focus," he added. "We want to make sure we go into the finals, if we make it, with good form."
Veart also says he side will not be complacent against a Roar side that sit second from bottom on the ladder with just six wins all season.
"We will be very careful of the way that we approach this game," he said. "They (Brisbane) play some excellent football. The only thing that they have struggled with a little bit this year is goal scoring.”
