Glory agreed an undisclosed fee with Utrecht for the 18-year-old who has penned a contract that will run until July 2026.
Rawlins has been one of the bright sparks in what has been a very disappointing season for Glory, who finished bottom of the A-League ladder.
They went out on a high with a shock 2-0 win over the ladder leaders Melbourne City on Wednesday night, in what has turned out to be Rawlins’ last game for the club.
Rawlins put in another fine display and has admitted to having mixed emotions about his switch to the Netherlands.
“It’s exciting and a bit sad, because I have all my family here, so it’ll be different, but a good change and it’s a massive opportunity,” he told the club’s website.
“I probably didn’t think it would come around so soon, but it looks like a great opportunity and I’m really excited.”
Meanwhile Glory CEO Tony Pignata has thanked Rawlins for his services and is tipping him to shine with his new club.
“On behalf of everyone associated with Perth Glory, I would like to congratulate Josh, thank him for his service to the club and wish him all the very best in the next chapter of his career,” he said.
“I’m sure Josh will acquit himself superbly at FC Utrecht and look forward to watching his career develop in the coming years.”
