Rangers v Celtic team news: Haissem Hassan benched for visitors

The first of two back-to-back Old Firm clashes takes place this afternoon as Rangers and Celtic battle it out at Ibrox for both bragging rights and a place in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals.

Rangers endured an extremely difficult start to life under Derek McInnes, but have recently picked up four Scottish Premiership wins out of four since being dumped out of Europe.

Despite also suffering huge disappointment in Europe, Martin O'Neill's Celtic have made a perfect start to their title defence and will be looking to lay down a marker by making it through this afternoon.

2025/26 saw a mixed bag of results in this always dramatic affair, with two Celtic wins, one Rangers win and three draws, so there's every chance we may play longer than the initial 90 minutes of normal time.

The hosts continue to be without Tuur Rommens, Youssef Chermiti, Jose Cifuentes and Lawrence Shankland with all players sidelined through injury.

Celtic meanwhile remain unable to call upon the injured trio of Callum Osmand, Alistair Johnston and Jota.

Pandur; Sterling, Fernandez, Makhanya, Penrice; Raskin, Neil; Minsu, Kelsy, Gassama; Naderi.

Celtic XI
