'Put us out of our misery' - Eddie Hearn's blunt Tyson Fury message

Eddie Hearn has pleaded with Tyson Fury to end speculation surrounding his potential boxing return as rumours of a long-mooted showdown with Anthony Joshua continue to swirl.

The Gypsy King announced his retirement from the sport in January after succumbing to a second successive points defeat at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk.

However, despite that, the Morecambe man has continuously teased a comeback on social media, with the 6ft 9ins giant event going as far as posting a video of himself back in training alongside esteemed Kronk coach SugarHill Steward.

Fury, of course, has previously reversed retirement plans, and the expectation is that he will make a return to in-ring action sooner rather than later, with a clash against his long-term domestic foe one of the fights likely to lure the 36-year-old back.

However, despite his continuous hints, the two-time heavyweight champion of the world has't made any official announcement regarding a comeback.

"I feel like Tyson Fury's a bit of a tease really, isn't he? I mean, all we see on Instagram is him," Matchroom promoter Hearn told Sky Sports this week.

"Even today, I've come out of the press conference, went on Instagram, and Fury is there with his wraps on doing 12 rounds of boxing.

Tyson, why are you doing this to us? What are you doing? Just let us know either way - put us out of our misery.

Fury's Queensberry promoter Frank Warren has revealed his desire to see Fury stage a boxing comeback, whilst manager Spencer Brown has hinted that a decision could be imminent.

Any potential comeback would likely centre around a showdown with long-term foe Joshua, who has already confirmed he would be open to finally facing off against the Gypsy King.

Discussions to stage the bout have taken place on numerous occasions over the past decade, but despite an apparent willingness from all parties to agree a deal, the fight has, as of yet, failed to materialise.

Hearn though, believes an agreement could now be reached in a matter of minutes...

"We can agree this over a single phone call, but we're reliant upon Tyson Fury. We're ready to go, but obviously he's got to be comfortable. He's got to be up for it," he added.

"He's a competitive so-and-so, and I just know in his mind, he'll want to dance with Anthony Joshua. So, dust those shoes off and let's make it happen."
