PSG Champions League Odds: Parisians 5/2 for maiden crown after Barcelona triumph

Paris Saint-Germain have moved in to 5/2 second favourites to win the Champions League after overcoming Barcelona 6-4 on aggregate in a thrilling quarter-final tie.

Champions League

Beaten 3-2 at home in the first-leg, PSG found themselves in further trouble in the second-leg after Raphinha put the Catalans ahead in the 12th minute, but the tie was flipped on its head following a red card issued to Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo in the 29th minute.

From that point onwards Luis Enrique's PSG took command of the quarter-final tie, with Les Parisians eventually running out 4-1 winners on the night courtesy of goals from Vitinha and Ousmane Dembele as well as a Kylian Mbappe brace.

PSG's navigation to the semi-finals will see them take on Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund for a place in the final, after Edin Terzic's charges overcame Atletico Madrid 5-4 in another pulsating quarter-final match-up.

Still in search of their first Champions League title, PSG are 4/11 to knock out Dortmund in the semis and reach this year's final at Wembley.

Although not quite the star-studded outfit they have been in recent years, this PSG side under Luis Enrique have been presented with a big opportunity to finally get their hands on an elusive Champions League title.

PSG have already faced semi-final opponents Dortmund twice in the group stages of this year's Champions League, with the French side winning 2-0 at the Parc des Princes and the return match a 1-1 draw in Germany.

Although appearing in a very precarious position at 4-2 down to Barcelona on aggregate in the quarter-finals after Raphinha put Xavi's side ahead at the Estadi Olimpic in the second-leg, the way in which PSG were able to take control of the tie following Araujo's dismissal was impressive.

A dynamic team who employ an effective pressing style, this PSG outfit could be acknowledged to be a more cohesive unit than the side previously including Neymar and Lionel Messi alongside Mbappe in attack.

In Mbappe, whose brace against Barcelona took his tally to eight in the Champions League this season and saw him leapfrog Bayern Munich's Harry Kane in the overall standings, PSG possess a player capable of dragging them to glory almost singlehandedly.

Undoubtedly one of the finest players on the plane at the moment, Mbappe will be desperate to win the Champions League for his hometown club before his heavily mooted move to Real Madrid this summer, and the Frenchman is now potentially just three matches away from achieving this feat.
