Long before they were back-to-back winners of the UEFA Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain endured a barren spell of almost two decades without winning the Ligue 1 title.
The Parisians had only captured the French title twice in their history; once in 1985/86, and again in 1993/94.
Their fortunes changed in 2011 however, when the Qatar Sports Investments group purchased the club and began recruiting elite talent from across the globe.
One year later, in 2012/13, PSG won the Ligue 1 title for the first time in 19 years; it would certainly not be their last title, as the club set about dominating French, and eventually European football.
Here we detail the Paris Saint-Germain players who played the most matches during the 2013/14 season, when the club were in the early phases of becoming the dominant force we know today.
Former Italian international goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu tops the list of appearances during the 2013/14 season. His may not be the most recognisable name in the group, but Sirigu was PSG's number one for four years during this era and made over 140 top flight appearances for the club.
Former Brazil and Tottenham winger Lucas Moura takes second place; signed as a 20-year-old wonderkid from Sao Paulo for a club record €45 million fee in January 2013, Moura was expected to develop into one of the world's finest players.
He won four Ligue 1 titles on the spin during his time at the Parc des Princes, but never really hit his expected potential.
