The runners and riders have been confirmed for the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot on Wednesday 19th June.
The 1m2f contest has a purse of £750,000 up for grabs and is set to feature some of the best middle-distance horses in Britain, France and Ireland.
There are 10 confirmed runners for the 2024 Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Last year’s dual Derby winner rounded off a brilliant year with victories in the Irish Champion Stakes and the Breeders’ Cup Turf, but he has two ways of running and was tailed off last in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes at this course in July.
He started off his year with a disappointing run in the Dubai Sheema Classic and although he ran a much better race when second in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh, he was beaten by White Birch fair and square on the day.
Behind Auguste Rodin when third in the Epsom Derby last year, the four-year-old son of Ulysses has taken his form to new levels this year, winning the Alleged Stakes, Mooresbridge Stakes and the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh.
The beautiful grey is a strong traveller who is getting better with each run, and he brushed aside a top-class horse in Auguste Rodin with ease when last seen. There's potential for more to come and he might take some beating.
Was far too keen when third in the Champion Stakes Ascot in October and again threw his chance away at Hong Kong at the end of the year.
He had excuses when beaten on testing ground on his return in France this year, but he was only beaten a nose in the Prix d’Ispahan when finishing with a wet sail. He's one to follow this summer as he loves fast ground.
Inspiral was narrowly beaten by Triple Time at Royal Ascot last year but went on to win three subsequent Group 1s, including rounding off her year with a win in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf at Santa Anita.
Off the track for 284 days through injury, Alflaila could make his return in this contest. The five-year-old son of Dark Angel was hugely progressive in 2022, winning a Listed contest at Pontefract before following up in Group 3 company at York and Newmarket.
He only raced twice last year, landing the York Stakes before finishing a credible fifth in the Irish Champion Stakes. Clearly a classy horse, he's well worth his place in the field but he might need the run.
