Preston v Sheffield United Odds: Blades 13/10 to win on Championship return

We have priced up Sheffield United at 13/10 to win their opening game of the 2024/25 Championship season against Preston at Deepdale on Friday evening.

Sheffield United endured a dismal Premier League campaign last year but they will start the new Championship season as one of the favourites to bounce straight back.

New signings Kieffer Moore and Callum O'Hare will hope to hit the ground running and they are priced up at 13/2 and 8/1 respectively to score the first goal of the game.

The Blades conceded a Premier League record 104 goals last season and they have strengthened their backline considerably with the recent acquisitions of Harry Souttar and Alfie Gilchrist on loan, plus the £3 million signing of left-back Harrison Burrows from Peterborough.

We have priced up Chris Wilder's side at 9/4 to keep a clean sheet at Deepdale and they are also 3/1 to win without conceding.

In comparison it has been a relatively quiet transfer window so far in terms of incomings for Preston, but they will be looking to build on their 10th placed finish season, which was in spite of a terrible run of form in the spring.

Preston are 2/1 to win their opening game of the season, while the draw is available at 12/5.
