It continues to be a fascinating season in the Premier League as the battles at both ends of the table don’t look like they will be settled any time soon following Saturday's matches.

At the top, Manchester City ensured they kept leaders Arsenal in their sights with a win at Crystal Palace, while Liverpool’s hopes of gaining a top-four spot suffered a blow as they were defeated at struggling Bournemouth.

That result took the Cherries out of the bottom three and, before Sunday’s matches, just six points separated bottom side Southampton from Palace in 12th.

Haaland wins it for City

It was not a vintage performance from Manchester City as they ground out a 1-0 win at Crystal Palace, but they did what they had to do and it was enough for them to be posted as 10/11 favourites to retain their Premier League crown.

The win took them two points behind Arsenal having played a game more than the Gunners who were set to travel to Fulham on Sunday, leaving Mikel Arteta’s leaders available at 1/1 to take the crown.

The margin of the Citizens’ victory could have been a lot cosier as Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish and Rodri all missed good first-half chances.

However, with 12 minutes to go, Haaland converted a penalty following a foul by Michael Olise on Ilkay Gundogan and that was enough for a vital set of three points.

City will not be in Premier League action until a meeting with Liverpool on 1st April as they concentrate on progressing in both the Champions League and the FA Cup, both of which they are favourites to capture.

Pep Guardiola’s side are 2/1 To Win the Champions League for the first time this season.

Liverpool fail to build on United win

The Cherries had seen a two-goal lead slip in their defeat at Arsenal last week but did not make the same mistake again as Philip Billing’s 28th-minute goal proved the difference.

Victory in the lunchtime kick-off would have seen Jurgen Klopp’s side take fourth spot for the first time this season and they were unable to rescue a point when Mo Salah missed a second-half penalty.

It was Liverpool’s seventh away defeat of the season and took Bournemouth out of the bottom three, although they are still 4/6 To Be Relegated.

The Reds meanwhile are 7/4 To Finish in the Top Four, which would be their only way back into the Champions League if they fail to overhaul a three-goal deficit against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Spurs boost top-four hopes

Following their Champions League exit in midweek, Tottenham got back to winning ways as two goals from Harry Kane and one from Heung-min Son were enough to claim a 3-1 win over another relegation-threatened team, Nottingham Forest.

Spurs have a six-point cushion ahead of Liverpool having played a game more than the Reds and they are 11/8 To Finish in the Top Four. Newcastle were 2/1 to qualify for Europe’s top competition before their game on Sunday against Wolves.

Brighton, who are nine points behind Antonio Conte’s side in seventh with three games in hand, are 7/1 to make it after they drew 2-2 at Leeds on Saturday.

Relegation fight shows no sign of being settled
