Premier League Darts - Night Seven

The Premier League darting roadshow touches down in Nottingham on Thursday night as Luke Humphries bids to make it two weekly wins in succession following his triumph in Brighton last week.

'Cool Hand' was in scintillating form as he stormed to victory on the south coast, landing his first five-point haul of the campaign and the £10,000 bonus winner's cheque.

The reigning World Champion will tackle Michael Smith in his opening tie on Thursday, with Peter Wright also in action against Gerwyn price, Rob Cross taking on Nathan Aspinall and Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen clashing in what promises to be an enthralling quarter-final tungsten tussle.

Our man Keith Deller has picked out his best bets for the night and packaged them together as an appealing 14/1 four-fold accumulator.

Peter Wright - Over 93.5 Average v Gerwyn Price

I just feel that Peter Wright is playing well enough to score an average in excess of 93.5 against Gerwyn price in this week's opening match.

yes, he may have struggled for points this year, but his scoring hasn't been an issue - it's been more of a case of him tightening up on those doubles at key moments, and it has cost him dearly.

If he can just touch up on his finishing, then he will be around the 97, 98 mark, which will give him a chance of winning this match.

Match Tips & Predictions

Luke Humphries - Over 3.5 180s v Michael Smith

Luke Humphries groups his darts together ever so well, he is flying with confidence at the minute and I full expect him to come racing out of the traps in Nottingham.

The fact that he hit a 113 average last week against Rob Cross tells me he that his game is in an incredible place, and there's no doubt that he is toeing the oche with the expectancy that he is going to be hitting maximums for fun.

He is a prolific 180 scorer and if we get eight or nine legs in this match, which I feel we will, then I fully expect him to notch four or more maximums.

Luke Littler - Most 180s v Michael van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen tends to switch to the 19s when he isn't quite at the top of his game, which he doesn't seem to be at this moment in time.

He was way below his best last week, and he wasn't much better the week before either, so I am expecting him to be looking towards that 19 bed, which he is so good at, as his get out of jail card this week.

We've all seen the scoring power of Luke Littler over the past few months, and he looks a good bet to land more maximums than his Dutch opponent in Nottingham.

Rob Cross v Nathan Aspinall - Over 9.5 Legs

Nathan Aspinall had two cracking weeks before dropping his levels a little last time out, but make no mistake about it, his game is in a very good place.

The same can be said for Rob Cross too, who reached the final in Brighton last week as well as reaching the final of the first European Tour event of the year at the weekend.

This is going to be a close game - 6-4 either way, which would trigger the 'Over 9.5 Leg' threshold for this part of my week seven accumulator.

Luke Humphries - To Win Night 7 @ 3/1

Luke Humphries incredible last week, and I fully expect his game to be at a similar level this time around too.

If he can group his darts as well as he has been doing for the last few weeks, and maintain a three-figure three-dart average, then he looks a very good bet to make it successive nightly wins at 3/1.

Prices were correct at the time of writing and subject to fluctuation.
