I backed Luke Humphries to reign supreme in the Premier League from day one, and I am sticking to my guns as we head towards Finals Night.

Humphries has been far more consistent throughout the campaign than his opposite number Michael van Gerwen, and whilst the Dutchman has the experience in the competition, I just feel that Luke will be too hot to handle on Thursday night.

MVG will have been pleased to have secured a top four berth because he's been well below his best; even when he was winning nights back in February and March, he was doing so in far less comprehensive fashion than we have seen in the past.

Humphries on the other hand has looked every bit the World Champion that he is, and I expect him to, once more, show why he is the world number one in London.

Am I expecting him to blow Van Gerwen away? Absolutely not. The pair will trade blows I am sure, and I feel that we will see 17 or 18 legs in this contest.

But Humphries rarely dips his average below the 100 marker, and if he can be around the 102/103 mark, which I feel he will across this best-of-19 showdown, then he, for me, wins the match, and then the tournament.

Unsurprisingly, World Champion Luke Humphries heads into this semi-final as the strong 4/9 favourite.

'Cool Hand' has been superb throughout his maiden Premier League Darts campaign, and has already beaten Michael van Gerwen on six occasions in 2024.

If you do fancy the Dutchman to keep his hopes of an unprecedented eighth Premier League crown then he can be backed to prevail at 7/4.
