Premier League Darts Bet Boosts: 20/1 for a World Championship repeat

We’re offering even bigger prices on selected markets on night one of the Premier League Darts, including a 20/1 shot on a nine-dart leg being scored in the Michael Smith v Michael van Gerwen showdown.

We saw one in the World Darts Championship final, and in fact very nearly saw two – and no we are not talking about the fabled Alexandra Palace wasp.

Of course, we're referring to Michael Smith’s sensational nine-darter; three perfect visits to the oche that helped set the tone for a pulsating battle for the coveted Sid Waddell trophy.

‘Bully Boy’s’ roof-raiser in just the second set came seconds after van Gerwen had missed his own attempt at double 12, and it helped spur the St Helens man on to his long-awaited first world title whilst also ensuring over 5,000 bet365 customers landed a hefty profit, after backing our ‘perfect leg’ Bet Boost at odds of 11/1.

Smith v ‘MVG’ is an encounter that whets the appetite of any darts enthusiast, and with the pair set to lock horns on night one of the 2023 Premier League, we are 20/1 for one of them to produce more fireworks on the big stage.

The collision between the two powerhouses tops the bill of what promises to be an entertaining night of arrows in Belfast, as eight of the best players in the world embark upon the first leg of their three-month long European tour – all with hopes and ambitions of being crowned champion in London come May.

Ahead of all 17 nights of action, we’ll be offering Bet Boosts on selected matches, including all four of Thursday evening’s quarter-finals.

So whether you fancy Smith or van Gerwen to land darting perfection for the second time in a matter of weeks, Peter Wright to prevail against debutant Chris Dobey and land the most 180s in the process, or even fancy Jonny Clayton to secure a 6-3 win over the dancing Belgian, Dimitri van Den Bergh, then we’ve got you covered.

Check out all of our available Bet Boosts on tonight’s opening round of fixtures below:

Michael Smith (6/5) v Michael van Gerwen (4/6)

Michael Smith

These two just continue to deliver the goods, and that sensational second set, third leg battle in early January will be one that lives in our minds forever more.

Regarded as the best leg of darts in history, it served to underline the credentials of two of the sport’s most prolific and devastating performers, and two players who will carry the belief and expectancy of going all the way on night one of this year’s competition.

But only one can prevail on Thursday and ignite their campaign in victorious fashion, but who will it be?

Dimitri van Den Bergh (11/10) v Jonny Clayton (8/11)

Dimitri van den Bergh

Neither of these players probably did enough to justify their Premier League selections over the past 12 months, but both embark upon a 2023 campaign with renewed optimism and belief.

Belgian star van Den Bergh edges the head-to-head having notched up eight triumphs to 2021 Clayton’s five, but the Welshman does carry plenty of Premier League appeal having reigned supreme in this competition a couple of years ago.

Both will be desperate to get their first points on the board as early as possible, and whilst Clayton is the narrow favourite, van Den Bergh is a player more than capable of lighting up the Belfast Arena.

Peter Wright (4/9) v Chris Dobey (7/4)

Peter Wright

Chris Dobey must still be pinching himself after landing his first TV major and securing himself a debut showing on the Premier league stage in the process.

The Newcastle man was never really part of the conversation for a spot amongst the chosen eight, but a run to the quarter-finals of the World Darts Championship followed by his first TV tournament victory at the recent Masters cemented his place in the darting roadshow.

He kicks-off his campaign against two-time world champion Peter Wright, and whilst ‘Snakebite’ flopped at the worlds, and boasts an unflattering record in this event, he has since rekindled his tungsten magic to win the Nordic Darts Masters.

Nathan Aspinall (6/4) v Gerwyn Price (8/15)

Gerwyn Price

It’s quite remarkable to think that Gerwyn Price has not once secured a playoff position in the Premier League, despite his previous elevation to the summit of the PDC’s order of merit.

There is no doubt ‘The Iceman’ will be eager to address that this time around as he embarks upon his fifth crack at the competition against an opponent who, for some, should have missed out on a spot in this year’s line-up.

Aspinall, a former Premier League runner-up, will be determined to prove his doubters wrong, although he will have to hit the ground running to get his Premier League campaign off to a good start against the now tried and tested Price.
