Ange Postecoglou discusses future after Europa League victory

Tottenham Hotspur booked their Europa League semi-final ticket with a 2-1 aggregate win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Unfortunately, you're going to have to put up with me for a little bit longer.

The response to Tottenham's victory was one we've come to expect from Ange Postecoglou.

It came after Dominic Solanke's first-half penalty was backed up by an atypically robust defensive performance from Spurs that saw them depart Germany with a much-needed, and potentially season-saving, 1-0 win.

Two months had passed since the Londoners last defensive shutout, but this clean sheet could not have come at a more important time.

Pressure had been mounting on the Tottenham boss in the build-up to the game, especially following a 4-2 defeat to Wolves at the weekend - but this will serve as a lifeline.

They now face Bodo/Glimt in the last four with a first piece of silverware in 17 years firmly in their sights.

Ange quick to address critics

Speaking to TNT Sports following his side's win, Postecoglou's mood seemed to be one of defiance.

Unfortunately for a lot of you, you're going to have to put up with me for a little bit longer. So let's see how that goes.

"I think I said yesterday, I am the same manager today that I was yesterday, so if people think us winning tonight makes me a better manager or whoever thinks I wasn't doing a good job yesterday, should be feeling the same way."

The 59-year-old was also asked about the now infamous "always winning something" in his second season comments from earlier in the campaign.

Postecoglou again hit back at his critics, "I will leave that. People like to mock and ridicule. They diminish my achievements, I will keep doing what I do.

"We are in the final four. Semi-final of a European competition. We are not often there."

If his premonition is to come true, Tottenham will have to display the grit and determination that they showed in Frankfurt for three more games.
