Plymouth vs Leeds: Tips, Predictions and Odds

Seven straight victories to start the year have turbo-charged Leeds' bid for automatic promotion back to the Premier League.

And the Yorkshire outfit will be intent on maintaining their winning streak on Saturday's trip to Plymouth, a side they have already taken on three times this season.

Plymouth vs Leeds betting tips and predictions

Leeds to win & over 2.5 goals @ 5/4

Leeds are on the charge in the Championship and Daniel Farke's promotion chasers are fancied to register an eighth win of 2024 at Plymouth on Saturday.

The Yorkshiremen have been on the coat-tails of the top two for much of the season, but Tuesday's thumping 4-0 win at Swansea, coupled with Southampton's 3-1 defeat at Bristol City, saw Leeds move into the automatic promotion places.

They have conceded just once in their seven-game winning start to the calendar year but their latest opponents, Plymouth, know that they can breach their illustrious opponents.

Argyle have scored in each of their three meetings with Leeds this season - a 2-1 defeat at Elland Road in the league, a 1-1 draw at the West Yorkshire venue in the FA Cup fourth round and a 4-1 extra-time loss in the pair's replay at Home Park earlier this month.

And the Pilgrims have invariably saved their best performances for matches at their Devon base. Eight of their nine league wins this season have been earned in front of their own fans and they have scored a whopping 74 percent (38 of 51) of their league goals at Home Park.

So there is every reason to believe that they could contribute to a high goals tally on Saturday, although even if they don't Leeds are blessed with so much firepower that they could beat a 2.5-goals line by themselves.

Crysencio Summerville, Dan James and Joel Piroe are all in double figures for the season, and in addition to their 4-0 rout of Swansea in midweek, Leeds have also won 3-0 on three occasions during their perfect start to 2024.

Using bet365's bet builder function, combining a Leeds win at Home Park with over 2.5 goals pays 5/4, and that looks a worthwhile investment.

Wilfried Gnonto to score first @ 11/2

Italy international Wilfried Gnonto has had to bide his time for a run in the Leeds starting line-up - but he is grasping his opportunity with both hands.

The excellent form of Wales star Daniel James earlier this season meant Gnonto has largely had to make do with a substitute's role this season.

But an injury to James has opened the door for Gnonto, who scored twice in Tuesday's 4-0 demolition of Swansea.

Gnonto has scored four goals in as many appearances for Leeds, including the opener in this month's FA Cup fourth-round replay against Plymouth.

The Italian was a constant thorn in the side of the Pilgrims a fortnight ago and his pace and trickery could once again cause Argyle all sorts of issues.

Gnonto's confidence appears to be growing with every start and, at 11/2, he is worth an interest to set Leeds on course for an eighth straight win of 2024.

Over 5.5 Leeds shots on target @ 1/1

Although Leeds have discovered their scoring touch in recent weeks, the Yorkshire outfit have been guilty of missing some golden chances this season.

But with the visitors fancied to win an entertaining encounter at Home Park, a bet on Leeds to register at least six shots on target could prove prudent.

Leeds have had at least six shots on target in nine of their last ten league and cup outings since New Year's Day, recording totals of 11, seven, seven, six, four, eight, six, six, six and eight.

There seems no reason why they should not continue to carve out clear-cut opportunities against a Plymouth side who have conceded 52 goals in 31 league games this term.
