Plymouth Argyle target Scottish Premiership defender

Plymouth Argyle are reportedly looking to sign left-back Mitchel Frame from Aberdeen this summer.

Frame is a product of the Celtic youth academy and has been capped for Scotland at Under 17s and Under 19s level.

He left Glasgow to join Aberdeen in search of first-team football last season but his aim didn't materalise on a consistent basis.

The 20-year-old made 14 appearances for the Dons as they finished ninth in the Scottish Premiership last season.

Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports has reported that League One side Plymouth are keen on signing the left-back.

Frame's chances of first-team football would increase significantly if he opts to move to Home Park ahead of the new season.

Plymouth only have one senior left-back at the club at the moment, which is incidentally another former Aberdeen player in the form of Jack Mackenzie.

Frame would arrive to challenge for the left-back jersey as the club looks to challenge for promotion in League One.

Plymouth have already brought in defenders Alex Hartridge and Wes Harding on free transfers to strengthen their defensive options.

A left-side defender is next on their wishlist and the talented Scottish youngster looks to fit the bill.
