Plymouth Argyle are reportedly attempting to complete a deal to sign Watford goalkeeper Nathan Baxter.
The 27-year-old arrived at Vicarage Road on a free transfer last summer following the expiration of his contract at Bolton Wanderers.
Despite featuring 72 times in two seasons at Bolton, Baxter endured a frustrating campaign at Watford last season.
His gametime was limited to just seven Championship appearances as Norwegian international Egil Selvik was generally preferred in goal.
The Watford Observer have reported that Baxter is now in advanced talks to join League One side Plymouth after just one season at Watford.
Plymouth, who are managed by former Watford boss Tom Cleverley, are looking to add to their goalkeeping ranks.
Last season's first-choice goalkeeper Conor Hazard departed the club at the end of the campaign to join League One rivals Wycombe Wanderers on a free transfer.
Back-up goalkeeper Luca Ashby-Hammond was also released after one season at Home Park.
The Pilgrims have already swooped to secure the signing of 21-year-old James Storer from Wolverhampton Wanderers, but Baxter would provide significantly more experience.
Cleverley's side enjoyed a strong second half of last season and they will be looking to push on and challenge for the top six next season.
