Marc Guehi has become just the fourth player in history to win the FA Cup with two different teams following Manchester City's 1-0 win over Chelsea.
Guehi was the Crystal Palace captain as the Eagles shocked Manchester City to win the 2024/25 FA Cup following Eberechi Eze's first-half strike.
The England centre-back left Selhurst Park to join Pep Guardiola's men for a cut-price £20m deal in January, with his Palace contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Remarkably, Guehi had already suffered defeat in this season's FA Cup when Oliver Glasner's side losing away at non-league Macclesfield in the third round.
But he now has his hands on the trophy again as Man City successfully banished the memories of successive FA Cup final defeats.
Only three players had previously won the FA Cup in consecutive years with different clubs.
France striker Olivier Giroud came off the bench for Arsenal as they beat Chelsea in the 2017 final, before joining Chelsea the following season.
Giroud started the 2018 FA Cup final as Chelsea secured a 1-0 win over Manchester United, who were managed by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
Prior to Giroud, Brian Talbot won back-to-back FA Cups with Ipswich Town and Arsenal in 1978 and 1979.
Talbot's second success marked 100 years since the first player to win the competition in successive years with different clubs.
Arthur Kinniard was the first player to achieve the feat after winning with Wanderers in 1878 and Old Etonians the following year.
