Pierre Gasly has been stripped of his Monaco Grand Prix podium after his penalties from the race were reinstated following a successful appeal from McLaren and Red Bull.
Following a hearing, the FIA International Court of Appeal have ruled in favour of McLaren and Red Bull to reinstate Gasly's punishments, which were initially rescinded.
The court ruling demotes Alpine's Gasly to seventh, meaning Isack Hadjar reclaims third place - his first podium for Red Bull - while McLaren's Oscar Piastri is reclassified in fourth. The Racing Bulls duo of Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad now finished fifth and sixth respectively.
Gasly had been reprimanded twice for speeding in the pit lane during the famous Monte-Carlo race.
The Frenchman was handed two five-second time penalties, which resulted in him being classified in seventh despite crossing the line in third. However, the stewards subsequently decided to cancel both of the penalties after Alpine had successfully lodged a right of review, reinstating Gasly into third.
The initial right of review process revealed that the official timekeepers had mistakenly measured the length of the pit-lane, making it possible for drivers to seemingly exceed the 60kph speed limit even if they hadn't.
Gasly was one of multiple drivers to be reprimanded for speeding in the pit-lane, including Piastri, his team-mate Franco Colapinto and Mercedes' George Russell. But while Piastri and Russell served their penalties during the race, Gasly did not and the 10-second penalty was added to his elapsed race time before it was rescinded.
McLaren and Red Bull argued that rescinding penalties only for drivers who had not served them in the pit lane created "severe sporting inequity".
An official FIA statement read: “Following the International Court of Appeal hearing in Paris on August 25, Gasly’s penalties for speeding in the pit lane in Monaco have been reinstated.”
The sport's governing body confirmed that they will be conducting an internal review into the processes that led to the initial decision to rescind Gasly's penalties.
While Gasly's demotion doesn't impact his position in the Drivers' Championship, it is a blow to Alpine in their battle against Racing Bulls for fifth in the Constructors' Championship.
