PGA Championship Odds: Scottie Scheffler 4/1 favourite at Valhalla

Scottie Scheffler is the 4/1 favourite to win the 2024 PGA Championship.

The world number one has been a dominant force in golf over the last two seasons and heads to Valhalla with the Masters already under his belt this year.

Success in this tournament would make him the first player since Jack Nicklaus in 1975 to win the Masters and PGA Championship in the same season.

It's been yet another phenomenal few months for Scheffler, who added a second Players Championship title to his collection before success at Augusta in April.

The 29-year-old has four wins in his last five starts, which included his last competitive outing at the RBC Heritage where he triumphed by three shots.

Scheffler's participation in the PGA Championship had initially been in doubt ahead of the birth of his first child and he was absent from the Wells Fargo Championship at the weekend as he opted to remain at home with his wife Meredith.

The world number one will be without regular caddie Ted Scott for part of the tournament.

Announcing in a press conference that Scott will be absent while attending his daughter's high school graduation, Scheffler has drafted in a temporary replacement caddie for the third round at Valhalla.

Scott, who helped Bubba Watson win the 2012 and 2014 Masters, has been on Scheffler's bag since the start of the 2022 season.

Scheffler recorded his best finish at the PGA Championship in 2023, finishing two strokes behind champion Brooks Koepka to tie for second.

He has three Top 10 finishes in his four PGA Championship appearances and Scheffler is priced at 5/8 to record another Top 10 finish this weekend.

2022 was one of Scheffler's more disappointing showings as he failed to make the cut in a major for only the second time in his career.
