Mohamed Salah is in contention to win his third PFA Players' Player of the Year award, while 2023/24 winner Phil Foden expectedly misses out on the list.
An award which symbolizes respect from fellow Premier League players, the six nominees for the 2024/25 have been announced.
Premier League champions Liverpool are represented by two of their finest assets in the award.
It felt as though Salah could hardly go a game without breaking a record in the 2024/25 term, scoring 29 goals and assisting 18 times on route to the Reds’ triumph.
The ’Egyptian King’ won the award following his remarkable 2017/18 debut campaign for the club, becoming a two-time winner in 2022. Should he win the honour this time round, he would become the first player in Premier League history to win it three times.
He is joined by fellow Liverpool player Alexis Mac Allister in the list of nominees. An intelligent operator in the middle of the park, the Argentine oozed quality for the Reds throughout the term.
Despite an underwhelming term for Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes makes the list after contributing to 18 goals in 36 appearances. The conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign has seen the midfielder reject huge proposals from the Saudi Pro League in order to remain at Old Trafford.
Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is next on the list of nominees, and some may argue controversially. An undeniably strong start to the season was met with a disappointing second half of the campaign, although the England international still managed 23 Premier League goal contributions.
A third consecutive second-place finish for Arsenal, but Declan Rice was unsurprisingly excellent throughout the Gunners’ season, adding attacking output to his game with four goals and seven assists.
Perhaps unfortunate to be in an era where Salah exists, Alexander Isak finished as runner-up in the Golden Boot race, scoring 23 times during the term.
He helped Newcastle to UEFA Champions League qualification for the second time in three seasons, prompting speculation regarding his future in the summer transfer window, with Liverpool mooted as strong admirers.
