Two League One promotion contenders meet on the opening day of the 2024/25 season as Peterborough United take on Huddersfield Town.
After the play-off capitulation against Sheffield Wednesday the previous campaign, there was more play-off heartbreak for Peterborough last season as they suffered defeat to Oxford United in the semi-finals.
They will be looking to mount another promotion bid this year and their opponents Huddersfield will have similar aspirations after dropping down from the Championship.
Peterborough v Huddersfield will be broadcast live on the Sky Sports+ channel.
Peterborough v Huddersfield will be played at the Weston Homes Stadium in Peterborough and kick-off is at 17:30 BST on Saturday 10th August 2024.
The last meeting between the two sides came in the 2021/2022 Championship season, with Huddersfield claiming a 3-0 home victory.
That win ended a run of five games without a victory against Peterborough, including the 2010/2011 play-off final which Peterborough won 3-0.
Huddersfield haven't won on their last four visits to Peterborough and both teams have scored in five of the last six league meetings.

Emmanuel Fernandez and Oscar Wallin are set to start in a new-look defence after Ronnie Edwards left for Southampton and Josh Knight joined Hannover in the summer.
Jack Sparkes could start at left-back with Rio Adebisi injured and Harrison Burrows leaving for Sheffield United, while Ricky-Jade Jones is likely to lead the line.
Josh Koroma should get the nod up front ahead of Bojan Radulovic and Danny Ward, with summer acquisitions Herbie Kane and Antony Evans likely to make their debuts in midfield.
Fellow new signing Lasse Sorensen should also make his first appearance, in what is likely to be a right wing-back role.
