The 2023 regular season was an unspectacular campaign by Mahomes' impeccable standards and yet Kansas City's orchestrator exhibited his best form for the post-season to lead the Chiefs to a second consecutive championship success.

Staring at a 10-point deficit against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas, a defiant Mahomes came to the fore and if there's any man you want on the ball in those circumstances, it's the two-time MVP.

Even in the midst of an injury scare that threatened to force him out of the game, Mahomes was finding targets and scrambling to deflate a stubborn Niners defence.

Signing Marquise Brown on a one-year deal in April, Kansas City drafted Xavier Worthy in the first round and have sanctioned the return of JuJu Smith-Schuster, with the trio to accompany Rashee Rice and Justin Watson in the depth chart.

Mahomes will be aiming to trim down the number of interceptions after recording a career-high 14 last season. He will also be looking to improve on his return of 4,183 yards and 27 touchdowns, which were his lowest figures since 2019.

With head coach Reid encouraging Mahomes to push the ball down the field more frequently and make big plays, there's every chance we will see him racking up some staggering figures on a weekly basis.
