Penrith Panthers have announced a huge double deal with both coach Ivan Cleary and son Nathan committing their futures until the end of the 2027 NRL campaign.
The Panthers broke their premiership drought in 2021 and are priced at 5/2 to back it up by winning the 2022 NRL grand final as well.
Having both coach and star halfback locked in for the next five seasons comes as a huge boost to the Panthers as they look to dominate the NRL for years to come.
Nathan was already under contract until the end of 2024 but the extension moves him a step closer to being a one-club man and he could not be happier.
"I came here as a 14-year-old kid after following dad around. It’s home for me now. It means everything to me. To stay for longer now and be part of this community is really special,” he said.
"At the end of the day I’m getting paid to do something I love. All I ever wanted to do was play NRL and Penrith made that possible for me."
Coach Ivan Cleary was out of contract at the end of next season but the Panthers have moved quickly to get him tied down.
"I couldn't be happier, I'm really proud to lead this club and these boys," Ivan said.
"We want to become a team that’s up there with the best of them and there's still a long way to go for us to achieve that."
