Oxford United v Arsenal Bet Boosts: Fabio Vieira to shine in 17/2 shot

We’re offering even bigger prices on Monday night’s FA Cup third round clash at the Kassam Stadium, including a BOOSTED 17/2 Bet Builder.

There have been shocks aplenty in the FA Cup third round and Oxford United will be gunning to spring the biggest surprise of the lot when they play host to Premier League leaders Arsenal.

The League One side - huge 11/1 underdogs - will be backed by a vociferous home crowd at the Kassam Stadium as they bid to stun Mikel Arteta’s in-form side and set-up an equally mouth-watering trip to Manchester City in the last 16.

Karl Robinson’s men brushed aside Exeter City 4-1 in round two to secure a glamour tie with the European heavyweights, and know they will have to produce the performance of their lives if they are to put the first dent in Arsenal’s superb campaign.

Arteta, who is chasing glory on three fronts, is expected to make wholesale changes to his side, and that is likely to include recalls for the likes of Rob Holding, Marquinhos, the fit-again Emile Smith-Rowe and the talented Portuguese playmaker Fabio Vieira, who joined from Porto in a £34m deal during the summer.

The 22-year-old has shown glimpses of his undoubted talent having been eased into life at the Emirates Stadium over the past four months or so, but he could prove the star-turn for the Londoners, who are 10/1 to lift the cup at Wembley, in this particular encounter.

We’ve got a handful of Bet Boosts available on the game, which will be streamed live at bet365 (live streaming rules apply), including a three-selection Bet Builder that is heavily influenced by the supremely talented attacking midfielder.

Backing up the Boost

Arteta has been careful in the way he has handled Vieira since his high-profile switch to English football during the summer transfer window.

Courted by a host of clubs across the continent, including Real Madrid and Manchester City, the 22-year-old carries a reputation for being one of the most technically-gifted young footballers on the planet, and the Gunners boss believes the technician is destined to reach the very top of the game.

Still, the former Manchester City assistant boss has been cautious with his big money summer acquisition thus far, opting to build up his physical attributes and nurture his understanding of the English game largely from the sidelines.

Whilst he has still made eight starts for the 7/4 Premier League title hopefuls, Arteta has this week suggested that the Portuguese star is now far better conditioned to make a major impact on his side’s fortunes – starting against the U’s on Monday.

Vieira, if-fit, is an almost shoe-in to start, and if he delivers the goods his Spanish boss believes he is capable of, then it could make for a very difficult night for the League One outfit who have remarkably never been beaten on home soil by the Gunners.

The former Porto man is capable of orchestrating proceedings from his attacking midfield berth, and having already notched against Brentford and Bodo Glimt, in the Europa League, this term, he will be hoping to further flourish, and ignite a strong second half of the season, against lower-league opposition.

It’s not just goals that the youngster will be tasked with providing though, with assists also likely to be high on his agenda, especially having produced remarkably high numbers on the international stage for Portugal’s varying youth sides, including at U21 level where he delivered 13 (as well as 14 goals) in just 23 appearances.

If he can replicate those figures at senior level, then the £34m fee paid for his services last June will appear paltry.

The final leg of our chosen three-part Bet Builder is for the encounter to provide over six corners, and given that tally has been surpassed in all but two of Arsenal’s 24 games in all competitions this season, that trend, you’d expect, will likely continue on Monday.
