bet365's boxing expert Rob Tebbutt provides his best bets as Oscar Duarte and Batyr Akhmedov collide in a blockbuster super-lightweight showdown on the undercard of Gilberto Ramirez v Chris Billam-Smith on Saturday evening.
Oscar Duarte and Batyr Akhmedov meet in Riyadh on Saturday in what could well be the fight of the weekend.
Originally scheduled to face Kenneth Sims Jr., Mexican banger Duarte now faces an arguably tougher opponent in Akhmedov and one that should give watching fans plenty of bang for their buck.
Both Duarte and Akhmedov love to throw big bombs and I think this could come down to who has the better chin.
In his three losses (all of which were controversial), Akhmedov has yet to be stopped, while Duarte’s only stoppage loss came against Ryan Garcia last November - so both men are durable.
This is a fight that could go either way, but I do like the more well-rounded boxing skills of Akhmedov.
The concern lies with how prepared he is at such short notice, but if he’s fit and conditioned, I think he might outlast Duarte, who can be very one-dimensional.
