bet365's boxing expert Rob Tebbutt provides his best bets for this weekend's huge minimumweight world title clash between Oscar Collazo and Thammanoon Niyomtrong in Saudi Arabia.
Oscar Collazo and Thammanoon Niyomtrong meet in a unification bout in the minimumweight division.
The bout features the consensus best two 105lb’ers in the world and, stylistically, I think this could steal the show in Riyadh on Saturday night.
After picking up the WBO title in just his seventh fight Collazo has established himself as one of the fastest rising stars of the lower weight classes.
He is tenacious, aggressive and boasts solid punching power for a fighter of his size.
Niyomtrong on the other hand, is the more experienced fighter, but at 34-years-old, may be past his physical peak.
I anticipate it being difficult for Niyomtrong to keep up with the younger, fresher man, but having said that, the WBA champion defeated highly-touted Australian prospect Alex Winwood last time out, showing that he still has plenty left.
Ultimately I feel this is a fight that will be decided by the youth of Collazo.
I think Niyomtrong is tough enough and experienced enough to be competitive, but I think he’ll struggle to outlast Collazo in the same way he did Winwood.
