With eight medals up for grabs across all events, the tennis at this year's Olympics should not disappoint and Iga Swiatek is the undoubted favourite due to her expertise on clay.
However, there are plenty of players looking to spoil the party including the USA's Coco Gauff, Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina and Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic.
(Odds will display when market is available).
Swiatek is red-hot favourite to win the women's singles tennis for Poland at this year's Olympics and it is easy to see why.
She may have exited Wimbledon in the third round this month, but on the Parisian clay she is exceptional.
Earlier this year, Swiatek won her third straight French Open title and in the process she recorded a 21st successive win at the venue where the Olympics tennis event will take pace.
She has won 35 of her 37 matches at the Grand Slam venue in Paris and will no doubt be looking forward to her return.
The USA's greatest hope of a medal in any tennis event, Gauff looks the most likely to trouble Swiatek in the Olympics this summer.
Gauff won her first Grand Slam at the US Open last year, but she is also a former French Open finalist and made the last four in Paris earlier this year before losing to Swiatek 6-2 6-4.
Among the most consistent players on the WTA Tour, Rybakina is a serious medal contender for Kazakhstan in this event.
Rybakina made the semi-finals of Wimbledon earlier this month, but she is also a capable player on clay, reaching the last four of the Madrid Open as well as the quarter-finals of the French Open at this venue in June.
She was also a semi-finalist in the women's tennis at the last Olympics in Tokyo, just missing out on a bronze medal, so she will be determined to put things right this year.
Since Vondrousova claimed silver in the women's tennis at the Tokyo Olympics, she has claimed her first Grand Slam title in the form of Wimbledon in 2023.
She is arguably a stronger competitor now than when she played in the gold medal match against Belinda Bencic in Japan and she can perform on the slower courts too, having reached the French Open final in 2019.
One of the bright young stars of women's tennis, Mirra Andreeva is set to play as a neutral athlete at the Paris Olympics and she could be one to monitor.
Despite her youth, Andreeva has already reached at least the fourth round in three Grand Slams and the semi-finals of the French Open.
Her strength on clay makes her a worthy contender in Paris.
As a four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka should never be written off, but it is worth noting her last Grand Slam title came at the start of 2021.
Osaka is still finding her feet on the WTA Tour again after she missed a year of tennis as a result of having a baby, but she has shown flashes of promise since her return.
A talented member of the China Olympics team, Qinwen Zheng is another serious competitor who will be hoping to secure a medal in Paris.
This year has already provided her with the highlight of her career - a run to the Australian Open final - and she will be determined to make her mark in Paris as well.
Losing two Grand Slam finals just over a month apart is pretty heartbreaking, but for Jasmine Paolini, runs to the finals of the French Open and then Wimbledon were pretty inconceivable not too long ago.
Those performances have meant Italian Paolini has flown up the WTA rankings to a career-best fifth spot and she will be among the main contenders in Tokyo after impressing in Paris earlier this year.
