Great Britain won their first Olympic medal in the women’s pole vault when Holly Bradshaw secured the bronze medal in Tokyo and hopes are high that Molly Caudery could do even better representing Team GB in the Paris competition.
However, it's one of the most open field events on the schedule with four contenders at single-figure odds, with Australia's Nina Kennedy the favourite for gold.

The 27-year-old from Western Australia is at the top of the market for success in Paris after sharing the gold medal at the 2023 World Championships with Katie Moon of the United States.
The pair both cleared 4.90m at the third attempt before failing three times at 4.95 and each had one failed jump earlier in the competition.
Kennedy was continuing her excellent progress in the sport after taking bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the 2022 World Championships, but had a tough time in her first Olympics in Tokyo, failing to qualify for the final with a best clearance of only 4.40m.
She tasted major-competition gold for the first time when winning the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and has put in some solid performances this season with a best effort of 4.88m.
Even so, she has plenty of high-quality competition and looks a short price for glory.
Great Britain's Molly Caudery is an athlete on the rise and comes into the Paris competition having set the best mark in the world this year with a clearance of 4.92m in Toulouse last month, setting a British record in the process.
The Cornish athlete was the silver medallist at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham but has really raised her game in the last two seasons and finished fifth in the 2023 World Championship with a then personal-best clearance of 4.75m.
Caudery has raised her PB multiple times in 2024 with a 4.83m jump in January and 4.85m when winning the British Indoor Championships the following month.
She became Britain's first pole vault world champion with a 4.80m clearance in the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow in March and raised her seasonal best to 4.84m in Ostrava in May.
Caudery finished third to Switzerland's Angelica Moser in the European Championships in Rome last month but showed she will be a threat to all in Paris with her world-leading effort in Toulouse.
The most experienced women's pole vault title contender is Katie Moon of the United States.
The defending Olympic champion took gold with a jump of 4.90m in Tokyo and was world champion in 2022 and 2023 (jointly with Kennedy on the second occasion).
She won the US indoor title last year but a best mark of 4.85m this season gives her work to do. Even so, the Ohio-born athlete is hard to rule out of contention for the gold.
Swiss star Angelica Moser is continuing to progress as a pole vaulter and enjoyed the best day of her career so far when winning the European Championship title in Rome last month.
The 26-year-old had some early struggles in that competition and needed three attempts to clear her opening height of 4.43 in the final. While her winning jump of 4.78m was a new Swiss national record, it's likely that more will be required for success in Paris.
She had set her previous personal best when fifth in the 2023 World Championship, so has shown she can rise to the big occasion.
New Zealand's Eliza McCartney became the youngest women's pole vault Olympic medallist when taking the bronze medal in Rio in 2016 at the age of 19.
A Commonwealth Games silver in 2018 was her career highlight until she was runner-up in the 2024 World Indoor Championship in Glasgow, but a jump of 4.80m there shows she can achieve the kind of heights that will be required to be in contention.
British athlete Holly Bradshaw had a sensational day in Tokyo when claiming the bronze medal with an impressive clearance of 4.85m and she achieved 4.90m later in 2021. She has not been in top-level action often since, however, and is among the outsiders this time.
