Tokyo champion Tom Pidcock is the 8/11 favourite to defend his Olympic Mountain Biking title, but his preparations leading into this event have been far from ideal.

The 24-year-old had to withdraw from the Tour de France after contracting Covid-19 and it has been a race against time to see if he will be fit enough to compete in the French capital.

It does however seem like he has won that fitness battle and it's all systems go for Monday afternoon. And Pidcock, who picked up Team GB's first gold in Tokyo, will be hoping for similar success as he attempts to add another title to his illustrious career.
