Oliver Tarvet is 25/1 to defeat Carlos Alcaraz as the pair prepare to meet at Wimbledon on Wednesday.
It was quite the Grand Slam debut for Tarvet - who is ranked 733rd in the world - as he comfortably brushed aside fellow qualifier Leandro Riedi.
There was plenty of chatter around the underdog story of the 21-year-old prior to his opening match with the Brit only allowed to claim up to $10,000 in prize money under NCAA rules.
Tarvet currently plays college tennis is the U.S at the University of San Diego.
Whilst there was little between him and Riedi in the early stages of their match at the All England Club, Tarvet gathered momentum after breaking his opponent early in the second set and closed out the victory in the third.
Attention will now turn to the significantly tougher assignment against Carlos Alcaraz.
Spanish ace Alcaraz is aiming to win Wimbledon for the third successive year but would have breathed a sigh of relief after avoiding a potential slip-up versus Fabio Fognini.
Fognini - who is competing at Wimbledon for the final time - battled bravely before eventually succumbing to defeat after five sets in the sweltering London heat.
