Oliver Glasner confirmed in January that he would leave Crystal Palace at the end of the 2025/26 season and he is still to announce his next move.
The Austrian looks to be in a strong position, as after leading the Eagles to their first major trophy by beating Manchester City 1-0 in the 2025 FA Cup final, he then took the team to glory in the 2026 Conference League final.
A 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano in Leipzig last month proved to be a fond farewell for Glasner, who is believed to have offers from several top clubs across the continent.
Manchester United were linked with his signature before Michael Carrick was appointed permanently, now another former European Cup-winning club look to be the favourites to appoint him, although other teams are also interested.
The club that keeps being mentioned in reports about Glasner is Serie A giants AC Milan, who are still searching for Massimiliano Allegri's successor.
After winning the 2010/11 Scudetto during his first spell in charge, Allegri returned to San Siro last summer but was sacked after just a season in charge following his team's fifth-place finish.
Glasner might want to coach a UEFA Champions League club, but the Rossoneri's reputation within the game means they remain a major draw.
The 51-year-old also has extensive experience in the Europa League, having led Eintracht Frankfurt to that trophy in 2022.
Milan could be a good option, considering Allegri played a back three for much of his second tenure, the defensive shape Glasner clearly favours.
He is already believed to be using his influence to bring Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta with him to San Siro, as well as fellow Austrian David Alaba, who is due to depart Real Madrid as a free agent.
There is also a suggestion that he could reunite with Ralf Rangnick, who is expected to head a new managerial structure, after they previously worked together as part of the Red Bull Group.
Positive talks are believed to have taken place, although Milan may wait until Rangnick becomes available after Austria's World Cup campaign to make their move.
Another club reportedly looking to appoint Glasner is Fulham, who are searching for Marco Silva's replacement.
The Portuguese has departed the club and is expected to fill the vacancy left by Jose Mourinho at Benfica once he rejoins Real Madrid.
Glasner's family being settled in London is in Fulham's favour, yet Silva's departure after five years, during which he won promotion from the Championship and established the Cottagers' place in the top-flight, appears to have coincided with the end of a cycle.
Talk to Fulham fans and they will tell you the squad at Craven Cottage requires a significant overhaul.
Glasner, who has a pattern of improving clubs, consolidating their position and then leaving after two or three seasons, may not be the right person to oversee that transition.
He is believed to be high on the Fulham hierarchy's wishlist, but negotiations are not believed to have taken place and he is 14/1 for the role.
Current Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is the 1/2 favourite, with Scott Parker 8/1, Ruben Amorim 10/1 and Arne Slot 12/1.
A return to the Bundesliga, where Glasner has coached Wolfsburg and Frankfurt, is also being mooted, with Bayer Leverkusen courting the 51-year-old.
Glasner's strong track record in Germany, where he guided both Wolfsburg and Frankfurt to UEFA Champions League qualification, is likely to appeal to Leverkusen, who only finished sixth in 2025/26.
Replacing Xabi Alonso was always expected to be difficult and Erik ten Hag was sacked after only two league matches.
His replacement, Kasper Hjulmand, struggled to elevate the team due to injuries and a lack of chemistry following the large number of departures and signings since Alonso led the team to an unbeaten league title in 2023/24.
Like Milan's roster, Leverkusen's squad is used to playing Glasner's preferred shape with three defenders and energetic wing-backs.
However, similar to Fulham, Leverkusen are not believed to have made an approach, with Milan thought to be in pole position to acquire the 51-year-old's services.
