One of the most decorated teams in Italian football history, Inter Milan enjoyed a renaissance in the 2000s - winning five Scudettos in a row between 2005-06 and 2009-10.
Key to the club's success throughout that period was the club's talisman Javier Zanetti.
Across 19 years at the San Siro Zanetti made a remarkable 858 appearances for Inter in all competitions, with his stamina and versatility making him a valuable asset regardless of where he was deployed.
In the final game of the 2013/14 season, Zanetti captained the the club against Chievo Verona and played the full 90 minutes at the tender age of 40 years, nine months and eight days.
