Northern Ireland squad named for start of Euros Qualifying campaign

Returning Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill has announced his first squad of his second reign in charge, with four uncapped players selected ahead of the dawn of a new Euros Qualifying campaign.

Reappointed as Northern Ireland manager in December, having enjoyed marked success in his previous stint in which he guided the Green and White Army to the last 16 of the Euros in France in 2016, Michael O'Neill will be aspiring to take his country back to the top table of international football in Germany next summer.

The ex-Stoke City boss will certainly have been buoyed by a favourable draw for the Euros Qualifiers, with Northern Ireland to compete against Denmark, Finland, Slovenia, Kazakhstan and San Marino in Group H, with the top two obtaining automatic entry to the German showpiece to kick off in June next year.

Starting their campaign away to San Marino before hosting Finland at Windsor Park, O'Neill has added four uncapped players to the latest Northern Ireland squad with key figures such as Steven Davis, Stuart Dallas and Corry Evans currently unavailable due to injury.

This quartet - Sean Goss (Motherwell), Cameron McGeehan (Oostende), Eoin Toal (Bolton Wanderers) and Isaac Price (Everton) - will all be chomping at the bit for a first appearance for their country in the upcoming internationals with the San Marino fixture in particular offering an opportunity for a potential maiden bow.
