Barcelona have reportedly agreed personal terms with Nico Williams over a proposed move from Athletic Bilbao.
News of the reported six-year-deal would end Barca's long-term pursuit of the 22-year-old winger.
The Spanish champions attempted to sign Williams last summer after he spearheaded Spain's success at the 2024 European Championship - his opening strike in the final against England was one of two goals he scored in last summer's tournament.
As well as having an outstanding individual competition, Williams also struck up a positive relationship with current Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal.
Having to face-off against that duo at club level would be a frightening prospect for teams across Spain and Fabrizio Romano exclusively revealed an agreement has been reached between player and club.
Romano wrote in a post on X: "Nico Williams and Barça have agreed personal terms on 6 year deal! Agreement sealed on player’s contract until June 2031 with the salary in the region of €7/8m net per season. Barça are currently working on financial terms to get deal done with Athletic [Bilbao]."

Despite being just 22, the Spain international has amassed an impressive tally of appearances for his hometown side; directly contributing to over 60 goals.
Williams - who also plays alongside his brother for the Basque outfit - helped secure the club's first major silverware in 50 years with a Copa del Rey title in 2023.
His arrival in Barcelona will be met with stern competition for starting positions. Club captain Raphinha is coming off the back of his most productive season yet and occupies the left wing spot that Williams would naturally take up, while the opposite side is locked down by the aforementioned Lamie Yamal who would be virtually undroppable if placed into any XI across the globe.
It's a good problem to have for Hansi Flick however, whose embarrassment of riches also sees Ferran Torres, Robert Lewandowski, Pau Victor, Fermin Lopez and Dani Olmo compete for places in forward areas.
Following on from their La Liga triumph last season, Barca are 6/5 to successfully defend their title in 2026/26.
