Los Angeles Rams head to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles in a fascinating NFL playoff game on Sunday and Racing Post's Phil Agius has picked out his three favourite bets for the Divisional Playoff matchup at Lincoln Financial Field.
There's a terrific line-up in the NFL Playoffs on Sunday night with the blockbuster AFC clash between the Bills and the Ravens preceded by an intriguing NFC encounter as the second-seeded Eagles (14-3) host the Rams (10-7).
The Eagles went 8-1 at home in the regular season and added a comfortable 22-10 Wild Card win over the Green Bay Packers at Lincoln Financial Field last weekend.
Philadelphia won the teams' regular season meeting 37-20 in Week 12 and they are favourites to progress to Championship Sunday next week, but a closer contest seems likely this time.
The Rams made a slow start to their season when their dynamic wide receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp were both sidelined by injuries, but, with their main weapons available again and an improving young defence, they have made tremendous progress over the second half of the campaign.
The Eagles have won eight of the teams' last nine encounters, although the Rams won 37-19 on their most recent visit to Philadelphia in 2020.
Los Angeles Rams +6.0 - 10/11
Philadelphia's wide-margin win over the Rams at SoFi Stadium in November may be all many people need to see when assessing this game, but there are plenty of reasons to think the Rams can at least be more competitive this time.
That home humbling was something of a turning point in the Rams' season.
They were 5-6 after that loss and looking unlikely to make the playoffs, but they rattled off five successive wins to clinch the NFC West with a week to spare and rested their starters in the Week 18 loss to the Seahawks.
That was a somewhat controversial move as the Rams could have still moved up from the fourth seed to the third, but backing themselves to beat the 14-3 Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card round paid off as they dished out a 27-9 beating to the NFC North team.
That game was played on Monday night in Arizona due to the California wildfires, but the Rams shrugged off the loss of home advantage with a devastating defensive display, sacking Vikings QB Sam Darnold nine times and limiting a prolific offence to just nine points.
The Eagles have the benefit of having an extra day to rest and prepare for this game, but they sustained some significant injuries in their victory over the Packers, with star linebacker Nakobe Dean ruled out for the rest of the playoffs due to a torn patellar tendon.
The Rams put up a strong performance on the road in last season's playoffs, losing by one point to the Lions, and they should be able to at least run the Eagles close this time.
Saquon Barkley longest rush over 18.5 yards - 5/6
Eagles running back Saquon Barkley posted the ninth-highest rushing yards tally in NFL history in the Week 12 game against the Rams with an astounding 255 yards on 26 carries with two touchdowns.
Those scores were both long-distance efforts from 70 yards and 72 yards and he has been a sensational free-agent signing by Philly.
The Rams' defence has improved greatly since then and they limited the Vikings' main man Aaron Jones to 48 yards on Monday, but keeping Barkley under lock and key for an entire game is beyond most teams.
Therefore, the former New York Giant can be backed to register at least one rush of 19 yards or more.
Barkley's best effort against the Packers was just 17 yards, but he had one run of at least 22 yards in six of his previous seven appearances.
Kyren Williams over 2.5 receptions - 7/5
The weather could be a factor in this game with a chance of snow in the forecast and Rams QB Matthew Stafford may have to look for some shorter-range passes than usual.
Backing Rams running back Kyren Williams to have at least three receptions appeals as longer throws to Nacua and Kupp could be tough, while tight end Tyler Higbee - the team's leading receiver against the Vikings - is expected to play despite sustaining a chest injury in that contest.
Williams has caught three passes in each of his last two games, against the Cardinals and Vikings, and may prove a useful outlet for Stafford once more.
