The NFL MVP award is one of the most coveted prizes in American Football and here are the leading contenders to come out on top.

This year's MVP award ultimately comes down to two players: Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson.
Allen has been at the forefront of a ruthlessly efficient Buffalo Bills offense that averages three points per drive. To put that into context, that figure ranks in the top five in NFL history.
He’s the first quarterback in NFL history to throw over 40 touchdowns, commit fewer than 8 turnovers, and take fewer than 20 sacks in a season. He's not only rewrote the record books, he's decimated them.
What makes his numbers even more impressive is that this comes in a season where many anticipated Bills to regress, with star wideout Stefon Diggs traded to the Houston Texans and several other key members of the Sean McDermott era departing.
Where Allen has defied expectations and hauled his team to No.2 seed in the AFC, Lamar Jackson has duly delivered what was asked of him by clinching the AFC North title for a second year running.
Last year's MVP possesses the 4th best quarterback passer rating in a single season in NFL history (119.6) and Jackson was the orchestrator in a Ravens team which became the first to accumulate over 4,000 passing yards and over 3,000 rushing yards in a campaign.
Over 4,000 passing yards, but of the 3,000 rushing yards, Jackson's mobilisation helped him contribute to over a quarter of their total on the ground.
