San Francisco 49ers face a tough test of their strength when they head to Minnesota to take on the Vikings on Sunday.
Brandon Aiyuk anytime touchdown scorer - 13/10
49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk said he didn't even want to watch the tape of his performance in his team's Week 1 game against the New York Jets after catching only two passes for 28 yards, but he could be in for a more successful time against the Vikings.
Aiyuk's preparation for the season was far from ideal as a prolonged contract wrangle that could have seen him leaving the team in a trade was finally resolved when he signed a huge new four-year $120 million deal as the kick-off to the new campaign approached.
Having missed most of the team's summer preparations during his hold-out, it's not surprising that Aiyuk looked a little off the pace but a full week of practice should see him in a better light this week.
The wide receiver said he didn't feel quite so bad once he actually did study his Week 1 performance and, with the team keen to keep their expensive asset happy, it would be no surprise to see quarterback Brock Purdy targeting him in the end zone in Minnesota.
Aiyuk scored 15 touchdowns over the last two seasons, passing 1,000 receiving yards each time and could open his account for the new campaign on Sunday.
Ty Chandler over 11.5 receiving yards - 20/21
Running back Aaron Jones was one of the Vikings' key additions in the summer and made a positive first impression on his new team with 94 rushing yards and a touchdown in his debut performance against the Giants.
Back-up rusher Ty Chandler was also a substantial part of the gameplan in the opener, making eight rushing attempts (to Jones's 14) and catching all three of the passes that came his way for 25 yards (while Jones was targeted only twice).
Chandler, a fifth-round pick in 2022, should prove to be a valuable outlet again for QB Sam Darnold, who is not the most mobile passer in the league and who will likely be looking to release the ball quickly in the face of the fierce San Francisco pass-rush.
Chandler may need to be the recipient of only one or two dump-off passes out of the backfield to exceed his modest receiving yards line of 11.5. He cleared that total in three of his last four games in the 2023 season as well as in last week's game.

Spread pick - 49ers -5 @ 10/11
The 49ers comfortably beat a strong New York Jets team who are hoping to be in play-off contention this season in their opener and the spread for their Week 2 visit to Minnesota is not as big as it might have been.
The NFC champions got to 1-0 with little difficulty even after the late announcement that star running back Christian McCaffrey would miss the game as he continues to recover from an Achilles issue.
McCaffrey has been limited in practice again this week and it wouldn't be the biggest shock if he was held out again given the impressive performance of Jordan Mason, who got the start against the Jets in his place.
Mason romped for 147 rushing yards and a touchdown in a game which saw four 49ers receivers catch passes of 20 yards or more.
That diverse offence bodes well for Kyle Shanahan's team as they bid to go one better than last season's overtime defeat by the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL Championship match.
The Vikings will have been delighted to get a win on the board in Darnold's first start at quarterback after the off-season departure of Kirk Cousins and a season-ending injury suffered by rookie first-round pick JJ McCarthy.
They were solid in all areas, but it must be noted that the Giants were a 6-11 team last year and might be even worse this time.
This fixture is a huge increase in difficulty level for the Vikings after their opener and the 49ers should be capable of clearly coming out on top.
