Dallas Cowboys v Cincinnati Bengals: Prediction, Tips and Odds

The final game of NFL Week 14 is a cross-conference contest between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

At the start of the season, a matchup between Dallas and Cincinnati would have sounded like a top-notch matchup with major play-off implications, but that is not the case.

Both teams have fallen well short of expectations, with the Cowboys still only 5-7 for the season despite winning their last two games, while the Bengals are on their second three-game losing streak of the year and on the brink of elimination from play-off contention at 4-8.

The Bengals might not mind going on the road as they have lost five of their six home games this season and are 3-3 on their travels, but they have a poor record against the Cowboys, losing the teams' last five meetings including a 20-17 defeat in Arlington in their most recent clash in 2022.

Zac Taylor's team are favourites on the road but the Cowboys will have taken some confidence from beating the Washington Commanders and New York Giants under QB Cooper Rush in their last two outings.

Dallas Cowboys v Cincinnati Bengals prop bets - tips and predictions

Ja'Marr Chase over 78.5 receiving yards - 10/11

Ja'Marr Chase remains one of the best wide receivers in the NFL but, like quarterback Joe Burrow, his elite talent is being wasted by the Bengals' abysmal defensive performances.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Bengals' passing offence as they rank ninth overall in offensive yards per game thanks to a league-best 264.3 passing yards per game.

Chase went into Week 14 leading the league in receiving yards with 1,142 and while Justin Jefferson's 132-yard game for the Vikings on Sunday took him to the top of that list, the Bengals ace should have no trouble reclaiming first place.

The former LSU star had a massive game against the Ravens in Week 10 with 264 receiving yards and three touchdowns and he has followed that with 75 and 86 yards against the tough defences of the Chargers and Steelers in his last two outings.

The Dallas defence has not played to that level this season and Chase should be confident of having another big night.

Rico Dowdle over 67.5 rushing yards - 10/11

The running back position has been a minefield for the Cowboys in the past few seasons but Rico Dowdle has finally taken a firm hold on the starting role and should be capable of another strong showing against the Bengals.

Dowdle has 600 rushing yards this season at an average of 54.5 per game, but he has really come into his own over the last couple of weeks with 19 carries for 86 yards against the Commanders and 22 for 112 against the Giants.

He added his first rushing touchdown of the season last week having previously had three receiving scores.

The Bengals defence gave up 75 rushing yards to the Steelers' lead back Najee Harris last week and Dowdle is not likely to dawdle against such vulnerable opposition.

Dallas Cowboys v Cincinnati Bengals over/under pick - Over 49.5 - 10/11

The Cowboys and Bengals rank 30th and 31st respectively in defensive points allowed per game with an almost identical 28.3 points being scored against them per outing - Dallas have conceded 339 points to Cincinnati's 340.

Both sides are well-equipped to take advantage of the weak defences they will be facing and a high-scoring contest seems likely.

The Bengals have given up 113 points in their last three games, losing all three despite scoring 34, 27 and 38 points.

The Cowboys have managed to score 61 points in their last two games despite having back-up Cooper Rush at quarterback and he has been solid enough not to be a problem in those games, throwing three TD passes with no interceptions.

Cincinnati's last five games have all gone over the expected total and they are 9-3 to the over this season, while eight of Dallas's 12 games have gone over, including five of the last seven.
