Cincinnati Bengals v Washington Commanders: Prediction, Tips and Odds

The Cincinnati Bengals were expected to be one of the top teams in the AFC again this season but they have got off to another of their frustrating slow starts and will be desperate for a home win over the Washington Commanders on Monday night.

The Washington Commanders already have one win on the board but face a stern test on the road and are unsurprisingly underdogs for their trip to the Paycor Stadium.

Cincinnati Bengals v Washington Commanders prop bets - tips and predictions

Brian Robinson Jr. over 53.5 rushing yards - 10/11

The Commanders racked up 215 rushing yards in last week's win over the New York Giants with running back Brian Robinson Jr. responsible for 133 of them and he should have another solid night on the stats sheet whatever the result.

Robinson averaged 7.8 yards per carry against the Giants and his longest rush of 40 yards from that game would go close to clearing this line on its own.

The third-season running back had only 40 rushing yards in the opener against the Buccaneers, who have a stronger defensive line than the Giants, although he was able to score a touchdown from his 12 carries and he added 49 receiving yards.

He is fully involved in the offense, despite the arrival of former Charger Austin Ekeler and should contribute against a Bengals defensive line that is dealing with injuries.

The Bengals gave up 120 rushing yards to Rhamondre Stevenson of the Patriots and Isiah Pacheco of the Chiefs had 90 against them.

Joe Burrow over 1.5 passing touchdowns - 5/7

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was only able to play 10 games last season due to a serious wrist injury and he still appeared to be feeling the effects at the start of this year.

Burrow recorded only 164 passing yards in the Week 1 defeat by the Patriots, but he looked much more like his old self in last week's narrow defeat by the Chiefs.

Burrow had 258 passing yards and two touchdowns against the champions and he is worth backing to complete at least two successful passes into the Commanders' end zone.

The Commanders have lost a lot of defensive talent over the last couple of seasons and look one of the weaker units in the league.

They allowed Tampa Bay's Baker Mayfield to rack up 289 passing yards and four touchdowns in Week 1, while they had no answers for the Giants' rookie receiver Malik Nabers last week as he had 127 yards on 10 receptions.

With wide receiver Tee Higgins back in the action this week to join Ja'Marr Chase, Burrow should clock up at least two touchdown passes.

The Bengals have made a habit of taking time to find their stride at the start of a season but their one-point loss to the champions in Kansas City last week suggest they should be up to comfortably securing their first win of the season against Washington.

The Commanders went 4-13 last season but that actually sounds better than it was as they lost their last eight games.

Including their 37-20 defeat by the Buccaneers in Week 1, they have now lost five straight road games.

They managed to beat fellow NFC East strugglers the Giants last week despite scoring zero touchdowns to their opponents' three, and they might well have lost that game if New York had not lost their kicker to injury early in the game.

Field goals are not likely to get the job done against a talented offense such as the one they will face in Cincinnati and the home team should be able to prove that they are better than their record suggests with a comfortable win.

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has made a solid start to his NFL career and is a threat with his legs after gaining 132 rushing yards in two games, but this is a tough test for a rookie in only his third appearance.
