Next Scotland Manager Odds: Sebastian Pocognoli new favourite

Here are the latest odds for the next Scotland manager as the SFA search for Steve Clarke's replacement.

Clarke resigned following Scotland's early exit from the World Cup and he leaves as one of the national's team best managers.

However, despite leading Scotland to three major tournaments, Clarke was unable to prevent three group stage eliminations.

Scotland laboured to a 1-0 win against Haiti in their opening game at the 2026 World Cup, but subsequent defeats to Morocco and Brazil saw them on an early flight home.

Attention has now turned to Clarke's replacement as the SFA look for a manager to lead the side in the Euro 2028 qualifiers.

(Odds will display when the market is available).

Former Monaco head coach Sebastian Pocognoli has emerged as the new frontrunner to be named the next Scotland manager.

The ex-West Brom and Brighton defender has been backed from 25/1 into 7/4 to replace Clarke's former assistant Steven Naismith at the head of the betting.

bet365's Steve Freeth said: "Pocognoli, who was linked with the Hearts job just a few months ago, is now the clear favourite to manage Scotland against Slovenia in late September following a substantial plunge in the market over the last 12 hours."

Pocognoli first ventured into management with Tony Bloom-owned Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and in his first season, the Belgian guided the club to their first league title in 90 years.

His success in Belgium resulted in Monaco headhunting him for their vacancy at the Stade Louis II, but Pocognoli lasted just eight months in the Principality as he was sacked at the start of June.

Naismith, who is currently priced at 2/1 to be the next Scotland manager, worked under Clarke from August 2025 during the team's World Cup qualification campaign and at this summer's tournament.

Naismith's only prior managerial experience was a year-long spell in charge of Hearts before he was sacked in September 2024 with the Edinburgh club bottom of the Scottish Premiership.
