Current England boss Gareth Southgate has been installed as the new favourite to become the next manager of Manchester United.

Amidst the ongoing speculation surrounding Erik ten Hag's future at the Red Devils, reports suggest United's new INEOS directors are keen on the idea of tempting Southgate to Old Trafford.

In permanent charge of England since November 2016, Southgate's existing contract with the Three Lions is set to expire in December 2024, with talks regarding his future expected to take place following Euro 2024.

Ex-Middlesbrough boss Southgate has now overseen three major tournaments in charge of his country, coming closest to winning silverware in the summer of 2021 when England lost to Italy on penalties in the Euros final.
