Next Inter Milan manager contenders

We take a look at the potential candidates to be the next manager of Inter Milan, with Simone Inzaghi reportedly on the brink of joining Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal are seemingly close to securing a big-money move for the services of Inzaghi, whose Inter side were thrashed 5-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final.

Here are some of the names who could be in with a chance of being the next man in the Inter dugout.

Roberto De Zerbi

Roberto De Zerbi has emerged as one of the front-runners for the Inter hotseat, according to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 45-year-old came through the academy at AC Milan before embarking on what many would consider a journeyman playing career.

He has forged a reputation as one of the brightest young coaches in Europe following eye-catching spells at Shakhtar Donetsk and Brighton & Hove Albion.

His first season in charge at Marseille saw him guide the club to a second-placed finish behind runaway title winners Paris Saint-Germain.

Cesc Fabregas

Romano's report also suggested Cesc Fabregas is being lined up as a potential replacement in for Inzaghi by the Nerazzurri.

The Spaniard enjoyed a stellar playing career at some of the biggest clubs in world football and has impressed during his first full season as head coach of Como - guiding the club to a comfortable 10th place finish in Serie A.

Jose Mourinho

Does Jose Mourinho have one more big job left in him?

The legendary Portuguese manager famously guided Inter to UEFA Champions League glory in the 2009/10 season.

Mourinho's career has stuttered in recent years and the lure of a return to the San Siro could tempt him away from his role at Fenerbahce.

Jurgen Klopp

Klopp is currently the Head of Global Football at Red Bull and has a four-year contract.

After leaving Liverpool in the summer of 2024, Klopp has brushed aside any links with a return to club management.

But there is no doubting that Klopp remains an attractive proposition to Europe's top clubs and Inter could be the ideal destination for him.

Antonio Conte

There were rumours that Conte could be leaving Naples after leading Napoli to the Serie A title at the expense of Inter, but he could now be set to stay following talks with the club's owners.

Conte led Inter Milan to the Serie A title in 2020/21 before leaving the club by mutual consent during that summer.

A serial winner, Conte also guided Juventus to three Serie A titles and lifted the Premier League trophy with Chelsea in 2016/17.
